A Bit of History

The park's namesake, A.L. Williams, left quite a legacy in Augusta's educational community. Born in 1919, Williams dedicated his career to Richmond Academy, where he wore many hats - teacher, coach, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and finally Principal before retiring in 1983.

His passion for high school baseball didn't go unnoticed, as he guided his teams to multiple state championships. The park is named in honor of a man who influenced many young lives in the Augusta community.
