Park Overview
Baggley Park is a community park covering approximately 8 acres in Boise, Idaho. The park offers a variety of recreational facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The park provides direct access to the Boise River Greenbelt, a popular pathway that follows the river through the heart of the city. This connection allows visitors to easily transition between the park's amenities and the broader recreational opportunities along the Greenbelt.
History
Originally acquired by the City of Boise in 1977 through the Land and Water Conservation Act, Baggley Park was initially known informally as Loggers Creek Park.
In 1990, it was officially renamed to honor George Baggley, a 14-year member of the Boise City Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners who also served on the Boise River Greenbelt Committee.
Recreational Facilities
Baggley Park features a mix of active and passive recreation areas. The park includes sports facilities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, and a sand volleyball court.
For families and children, there is a playground area with equipment suitable for different age groups, including swings and structures for both younger (2-5 years) and older (5-12 years) children.
The park also offers open grassy areas for casual play and relaxation. Picnic facilities are available for those who wish to enjoy outdoor meals.
