Fuller Park
About Fuller Park
Where History Meets Recreation
Tucked within the Parkside Creek Subdivision in Meridian, Idaho, Fuller Park spreads across 26 acres of green space. As one of Meridian's oldest parks, this place has character you can feel. The first thing you'll notice? Those massive cottonwood trees that seem to touch the sky, creating a little forest getaway right in the city. The large pond with its fountain isn't just pretty to look at - it's also home to ducks and geese that paddle around, adding life to the peaceful setting.
There's a sweet story behind this park, too. The Fuller family gifted this land specifically for the community to enjoy, sharing their love for bringing people together through outdoor spaces. Today, the park offers a nice blend of natural beauty and recreational activities.
Get Your Game On
For baseball enthusiasts, The park features three youth baseball fields where local leagues battle it out and families play casual games on sunny afternoons. Planning a gathering? Four picnic shelters dot the landscape - some you can reserve ahead of time, complete with tables, electricity, and charcoal grills for an excellent outdoor feast.
Without a reservation, the shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis during specific hours, allowing for spontaneous picnics. Need more active options? The sand volleyball court features quality sand that many players appreciate. There's also a fantastic playground for the kids and outdoor exercise equipment with clear instructions, so you can get your workout in while the little ones play.
Playground Paradise
The playground at Fuller Park features tall, tree house-themed structures that create a forest adventure atmosphere for children. Little climbers can scale rock climbing walls, thrill-seekers can zoom down multiple slides (including two especially massive ones), and everyone enjoys the swings - there's even a special baby-parent combination swing for the tiniest visitors.
The playground is thoughtfully divided: a larger area for older kids, with two smaller sections designed for younger children.
Nature and Necessities
Feeling like a stroll? The well-kept pathways weave within the park and around the pond, great for walking, jogging, or biking. Open grassy areas invite impromptu games of soccer or flag football, and if you're patient, the pond offers fishing opportunities (catch and release only) - a peaceful way to spend an hour or two.
You'll come across clean, modern restroom facilities with water fountains near the playground area. These are well-maintained, heated during those chilly Idaho winters, and include family-friendly features.
