About Lions Park
A Bit of History & Setting
Located in Nampa, Idaho, Lions Park spans 15 peaceful acres that have been serving the community since 1952, when the Lions Club of Nampa first established it. They created this green space with kids in mind, but it quickly became a spot where everyone could find something to enjoy.
The park sits among a neighborhood filled with charming mid-century homes, and if you're looking for shade, you're in luck. The towering mature trees create cool spots around the grounds and add to the park's tranquil vibe - something that regular visitors often rave about.
Places to Play
If you're into sports, Lions Park offers several options. You'll find several baseball and softball fields (including the Daniels Softball Field), three tennis courts that were resurfaced in 2018 (and also work for pickleball if that's your thing), a basketball court, and a volleyball area.
Kids have two different playground areas to explore. The main one features a pretty cool musical light-up game among various climbing structures, while a second play zone sits closer to the sports fields. Between the slides, climbing equipment, swings (including a fun tire swing), little ones can burn off plenty of energy here.
There's also no shortage of open space for impromptu games of frisbee or catch, plus several picnic shelters with grills. Many picnic tables are thoughtfully placed under those magnificent shade trees, making this spot well-suited for family gatherings or birthday celebrations.
Take a Dip at Lincoln Pool
When summer heats up, the Lincoln Pool becomes a major attraction within the park. This seasonal outdoor swimming facility includes a main pool complete with diving boards and spray toys, plus a separate shallow area where toddlers can splash safely.
The pool area comes with a modern pool house featuring restrooms and showers. The safety measures in place make it suitable for families with swimmers of all confidence levels.
Amenities Worth Noting
You can find clean, well-maintained restrooms within the grounds. Dog lovers can bring their four-legged friends too, but remember to keep them leashed and clean up after them.
The large covered pavilion with tables and grills makes this park especially popular for celebrations. With so much green space available, you can spread out without feeling cramped, even on busy weekends.
Nearby, there's a fenced water area where you can watch ducks paddle about safely.
A Park for Everyone
The playgrounds feature safety surfacing to cushion any tumbles, and many play structures accommodate children with different abilities. Parents will appreciate how the layout allows for easy supervision from nearby tables.
If you're looking to get active, host a family picnic, let the kids play, or just find a peaceful spot to read a book, Lions Park offers a little bit of everything. Its blend of mature trees, well-kept facilities, and diverse features makes it a nice spot in Nampa.
