Historic Significance
Established in 1905, the park was designed as part of a broader initiative to provide green spaces for residents in Chicago's densely populated tenement districts. Its Beaux-Arts architectural style was crafted by the acclaimed Olmsted Brothers and Daniel H. Burnham, further emphasizing its historical significance.
