Park Overview

Nowell Park spans 20 acres and combines outdoor amenities with a state-of-the-art recreation center, making it a hub of activity for residents and visitors of all ages.

Historically, the park has served as an important community space since its establishment in the 1920s when Charles and Margaret Nowell donated the land.

Outdoor Amenities

The outdoor areas offer ample green spaces for picnicking and open play, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a splash pad for families to enjoy during warmer months.

Several playgrounds and tot play areas cater to younger visitors, while a mix of shaded pavilions provides spaces for relaxation and gatherings.

Recreation Center

The Nowell Park Recreation Center, opened in 2018, is a 45,000-square-foot facility that serves as the centerpiece of the park.

The center features two regulation-sized basketball courts that double as volleyball and pickleball courts, a 10,000-square-foot fitness center, an indoor walking track, suspended batting cages, and several multipurpose rooms.

Community Programs

The versatile spaces within the Recreation Center are used for youth and adult sports, art classes, and even cooking lessons.
