About the Location

Scenic Setting

Riverwalk Park stretches along the West Branch of the DuPage River. Created in 1981 to commemorate Naperville's 150th anniversary, the park has since become a focal point of the community and is often referred to as the "Crown Jewel of Naperville."

The park features 1.75 miles of brick-paved paths that wind along the riverbank, offering visitors a tranquil setting for walks, jogging, or simply enjoying nature. The paths are lined with trees, providing shade and a picturesque backdrop throughout the seasons.

Architectural Features

Numerous bridges, including covered bridges, span the river, allowing visitors to cross between different sections of the park and offering vantage points for viewing the water. The park's design pays homage to Naperville's history, with features such as distinctive shepherd's crook light poles that symbolize the city's ties to its past as the oldest settlement in DuPage County.
