About the Park

Historic Carnegie Library

The park is home to the historic West Branch Library, one of Evansville's two Carnegie Libraries that opened to the public in January 1913. The library building, designed in a simplified version of Beaux Arts Classicism, features a rectangular red brick structure with a foundation of dressed Indiana limestone and cream-colored terra cotta ornamentation.

Park Features

Westside Library Park provides a serene setting for the library, offering green space in the surrounding area. It serves as a neighborhood park for the west side community of Evansville.

The park's location along Franklin Street makes it easily accessible to local residents and visitors.

Community Events

Westside Library Park is also notable for being part of the route for the annual West Side Nut Club Festival, a popular local event. The park's integration with the historic library building creates a unique blend of cultural and recreational space for the community.
