History and Establishment

Bob Arnold Northside Park is a 37.47-acre community park located at E. State Boulevard and Parnell Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Established in 1978, this park was formerly the site of the State School and Training Center.

In 1979, the land was officially transferred to the City of Fort Wayne for public recreational use. After securing funding through a bond package, the park formally opened on June 4, 1983.

The park was renamed in 1999 in honor of Bob Arnold, a long-serving director of the Fort Wayne Park & Recreation Department, who dedicated 45 years of service to the community.

Recreational Amenities

The park offers a range of amenities that cater to outdoor recreation and family activities. A highlight of the park is its disc golf course featuring nine holes, ideal for players ranging from beginners to intermediate levels.

Additionally, the park includes multiple sports facilities such as basketball courts, tennis courts, ball fields, and an informal soccer field.

Northside Pool

Among its popular attractions, the Northside Pool operates during the summer with water slides, a splash pad, shade umbrellas, swimming lessons, concessions, and a space for aquatic fun.

This inclusive playground is accessible to children of all abilities, ensuring everyone can enjoy sliding, climbing, and other engaging activities.

Nearby, parents and caregivers can relax on shaded seat-back benches.
