Lions Park is a scenic neighborhood park located at the intersection of Carew Street and Hazelwood Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Established in 1953, this 14.4-acre green space was a gift from The Central Lions Club of Fort Wayne, serving as a local attraction for nearly seven decades.
The park is nestled in a picturesque northside neighborhood, not far from Hazelwood Post Office and Fire Station Number 10. A notable feature of the park is the Lion monument, dedicated to the memory of Henry and Wilhelmine Franke.
Unique Playground
In 2015, the park's playground received a unique addition inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. The playground structure features two facades: one side tells the story of "The Ugly Duckling," while the other depicts "The Little Mermaid."
This imaginative design adds an educational and whimsical element to the play area.
