Major Makeover Underway

Exciting changes are happening at Packard Park with a $1.9 million redevelopment currently in progress. If you're planning a visit, keep in mind that the park is getting a complete refresh scheduled to wrap up by summer 2025.

This isn't just any renovation - it's the result of five years of thoughtful planning with input from the people who know the park best: the community. The goal? Creating a space that truly works for the locals who use it most.

What's Coming

Kids are in for a treat with two new playgrounds on the horizon - one specially designed for the little ones in preschool and another for elementary school children. These play areas will join the Beasley Outdoor Futsal Courts that were added back in 2018.

The park is also adding a generous event lawn and a dedicated event plaza, meant for everything from birthday celebrations to community gatherings.

Natural Touches

If you enjoy a peaceful stroll, you'll appreciate the new 1/8-mile perimeter walking path being added to improve accessibility and better connect the park to surrounding neighborhoods. The landscaping is getting attention too, with new shade and ornamental trees that will enhance the natural beauty of this urban oasis.

Some things aren't changing - the park's cherished open-air pavilion complete with picnic tables and restrooms will remain a central feature, great for family lunches or catching up with friends in the fresh air. Once all the work is finished, Packard Park will offer an even better blend of recreational opportunities and natural spaces for everyone to enjoy.
