About the Location
A Touch of Nature with Deep Roots
What started as someone's private tree collection became Duck Creek Park in the 1930s during the Great Depression - talk about a silver lining! This 211-acre park follows Duck Creek as it meanders through Davenport, with plenty of trees providing welcome shade during hot Iowa summer days.
Tee Time in the City
The heart of Duck Creek Park is its 18-hole public golf course. Stretching 5,759 yards with a par 70, the course beautifully incorporates the natural hills and tree-lined fairways that give this park its character. Since 2010, golfers have also enjoyed the driving range - a welcome addition for those looking to work on their swing before tackling the full course.
Beyond the Green
Not into golf? No problem. Duck Creek Park doesn't play favorites with its recreational offerings. You'll find tennis courts, pickleball courts (for when you want to mix things up), playground equipment for the kiddos, and picnic shelters ideal for gathering with friends and family.
One of the park's best features is its paved multi-use trail that connects to the larger Duck Creek Parkway system spanning across Davenport and into neighboring Bettendorf. It's suitable for walking dogs, running, or teaching children to ride bikes.
Trails Worth Traveling
The scenic walking and biking paths wind through shaded areas and offer nice views, especially in fall when the leaves change color. The family-friendly paths accommodate cyclists of all skill levels.
Making Memories
Planning a special event? Duck Creek Lodge sits right in the park and can be rented for gatherings. This indoor venue comfortably fits 70-100 guests, Making it well-suited for those medium-sized celebrations where you want nature nearby but don't want to gamble with the weather.
For those dreaming of an outdoor wedding, the Stampe Lilac Garden and Gazebo offers a picturesque setting that has witnessed countless "I dos" and family photos. Between the Lodge and the Garden, you've got options for creating those milestone memories in a natural setting.
Picnic Paradise
Scattered throughout Duck Creek Park are numerous picnic spots with views that make even a simple sandwich taste better. The combination of rustling leaves overhead, open spaces for frisbee tosses, and the gentle sounds of Duck Creek create an ideal backdrop for anything from solo lunches to family reunions.
If you're looking to play 18 holes, cycle through shaded paths, or simply spread out a blanket and enjoy some downtime, Duck Creek Park offers that perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational options right in the heart of Davenport.
