About the Location
A Riverside Blend of Art & Architecture
Located next to the Riverfront Parkway in the Village of East Davenport sits a gem that might catch you by surprise. The Sculpture Park isn't your typical collection of abstract art pieces - it's a thoughtful outdoor gallery where architecture becomes art against the backdrop of Iowa's natural landscape.
What makes this space special is how it captures the essence of the Quad Cities through sculptural forms inspired by the area's historic buildings and homes. As you wander through, you'll notice these architectural pieces do double duty - they're visually interesting while also telling the story of the region's design heritage.
Built by the Community, for the Community
Before becoming its own destination, this area was originally part of Lindsay Park. What's cool about its origin story is that it truly came from the people. Through design sessions led by Quad City Arts, an eclectic mix of locals - from history buffs and business owners to outdoor enthusiasts and river advocates - collaborated to bring this vision to life.
The park officially became part of Davenport's landscape when it was dedicated to the city on May 22, 1999.
Where Art Meets the Mississippi
One of the most captivating aspects of visiting is the park's setting along the mighty Mississippi River. As you explore the installations, the flowing water provides a constantly changing backdrop. Think of it as an open-air museum where you can connect with both artistic expression and local history while enjoying one of America's most iconic waterways.
