Sprawling across 90 acres, City Park offers a breath of fresh air in the heart of Kansas City. This community green space has a bit of everything for your outdoor adventures, whether you're flying solo or bringing the whole family along.

Need a spot for your next get-together? The park features four picnic shelters where you can take a break in the shade. You'll also find restrooms and parking nearby - no need to plan an elaborate bathroom strategy for your picnic! The hilltop pavilion offers picnic tables with nice views overlooking the train yards and Kansas City's skyline.

Sports Facilities

Soccer players take note: The park's lighted soccer field means the game doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. It's a favorite spot for local youth leagues and casual kickarounds alike.

If volleyball is more your speed, dig your toes into the sand volleyball court for some recreational bumping and spiking.

Baseball and softball enthusiasts haven't been forgotten either. Multiple fields dot the landscape, hosting everything from serious league play to casual Sunday games. These diamonds have seen decades of home runs and strikeouts.

Disc Golf Course

One of the newer additions to City Park is its disc golf course, thoughtfully designed to take advantage of the natural hills and dips. The significant elevation changes add to the challenge and provide good views while you play.

While the holes tend to run shorter (making this a decent choice for beginners), don't be fooled into thinking it's a walk in the park. The hillside layout and Kansas City winds can turn an easy throw into a head-scratching challenge. The well-maintained course has earned its reputation as a local disc golf destination.

Landscape Features

Those hills that make the disc golf interesting? They transform into perfect sledding slopes when winter blankets the park with snow. The higher points in the park offer panoramic views of Kansas City.
