Located in the heart of Olathe, Kansas, Woodland Hills Park is a little green sanctuary that feels like the neighborhood's collective backyard. You'll come across this peaceful spot nestled among homes off Langley Street, where a convenient circle drive makes parking a breeze for anyone looking to escape the daily grind for a while.

What to Do Here

One of the first things you'll notice is the winding walking path that meanders through the park - great for a morning jog or an evening stroll when you need to clear your head. If you've got kids in tow, the playground is bound to be your first stop. It's designed with the 5-12 crowd in mind, but we've seen plenty of younger adventurers having a blast there too. The squishy turf ground is a thoughtful touch that means fewer scraped knees and teary eyes.

The central pond might be our favorite feature. There's something inherently calming about sitting near water, watching ripples spread across the surface - a natural stress-reliever in our busy world.

Amenities You'll Appreciate

When hunger strikes, head to the park shelter where you can find two covered picnic tables available on a first-come basis. No need to plan too far ahead - just show up and claim your spot. The shelter comes equipped with the essentials: charcoal grill for impromptu cookouts, electricity for charging phones or powering small devices, water access, and lighting for when your gatherings stretch into the evening.

Three benches scattered around the grounds offer perfect perches for people-watching or diving into a good book. There's also a water fountain for quick refreshment during those warm Kansas days.

One particularly great feature is the park's location away from major traffic - making it a safer spot for families. Just note that there aren't any restrooms here, so plan accordingly.
