About the Location

A Neighborhood Location

Located in a residential area of Wichita, Redbud Park spans 7.30 acres of community green space. This modest neighborhood park came into existence in 1981 when the city acquired the land from Unified School District 259, with visions of creating a local gathering spot.

The park is pet-friendly, so you can bring your dog along when you visit.

Play & Recreation Spaces

Got little ones with energy to burn? The playground here is designed with the smallest visitors in mind. With equipment that's little-kid friendly, it's excellent for toddlers and younger children who need a safe place to climb and explore.

Soccer enthusiasts will appreciate the open soccer fields that dot the landscape. No matter if you're organizing an impromptu weekend game with friends or watching your kids practice their footwork, there's plenty of room to kick the ball around.

What to Know Before You Go

Just a heads up - Redbud Park keeps things simple when it comes to amenities. There are no public restrooms on the grounds, so plan accordingly for your visit. The park could also use a few more picnic tables, so if you're planning an outdoor lunch, you might want to bring a blanket just in case.

Community Connection

The park has a neighborhood feel, with locals often crossing paths while walking dogs or watching their kids play soccer on weekend mornings.

The convenient location means you don't have to venture far from home to find a bit of nature in the city - it's just there, woven into the fabric of the neighborhood.

Green Escape

The open green spaces are perhaps Redbud's most appealing feature. They're nothing fancy - just wide, welcoming fields where you can fly a kite on a breezy day, toss a frisbee, or simply spread out a blanket and watch the clouds roll by. Sometimes, that's all you really need.
