This compact 12,000-square-foot playground may be small, but it fits quite a bit into its space. Named for a dedicated community leader, the park turned what was once an overlooked patch of land into a space where locals gather and children play.

Kids' eyes light up when they spot the climbing structure that functions as the playground's centerpiece. While the park caters especially well to the under-4 crowd, there's something here for various ages. Little adventurers can test their skills on the giant net or take a spin on the spinning ride. The versatile large basket swing is fantastic for group fun, and the moving ladder offers an extra challenge for more confident climbers.

Colorful mosaics and beautiful murals bring the space to life, created by artist Lisa Houck and inspired by drawings from children in the nearby South End - a sweet community connection that makes the park feel special.
