About the Location

History and Overview

Lynn Heritage State Park is a history-themed state park located in downtown Lynn, Massachusetts. The park opened in 1986 and is part of the Metropolitan Park System of Greater Boston. It spans 4.5 acres along Lynn Harbor, offering visitors scenic views of the waterfront and Boston skyline in the distance.

Industrial Heritage

The park celebrates Lynn's industrial past and the people who contributed to its development. A key feature is the beautifully landscaped Waterfront Park area, which includes benches for resting and a shade shelter.

Waterfront Features

A long boardwalk borders the seawall, allowing visitors to take in sweeping views across Lynn Harbor and Massachusetts Bay. The park also provides opportunities to watch boats coming and going from the nearby public marina.

Art and Culture

Within the park, visitors can find a colorful nine-panel mosaic mural made of ceramics and Venetian glass. This artwork depicts Lynn's history, natural beauty, and coastline.

Community Space

While no longer housing a visitor center, the park continues to serve as a space for recreation, relaxation, and reflection on Lynn's heritage. Its location in downtown Lynn makes it easily accessible and integrates it into the city's ongoing development and revitalization efforts.
