About the Location
Playground Paradise
The playground is a highlight of this park, with equipment suitable for children under 5 and elementary-aged kids between 5-8. You'll discover three different slides to choose from - a straight slide for the traditionalists, a curved one for those who like a bit of excitement, and racer slides for friendly competitions between siblings or friends. The monkey bars offer a wonderful challenge for growing muscles, while the bouncer never fails to bring out the giggles.
What we love about this playground is how it blends manufactured fun with natural elements. Log stools and a log tunnel invite children to climb and crawl while connecting with nature in a way that plastic equipment just can't match. The recently refreshed sandbox is impressively weed-free and ready for castle building or treasure burying - just remember to check shoes before heading home!
Space to Breathe
At 2.5 acres, Bromley Park has a nice size - not too sprawling, not too cramped. It functions as both a play zone for kids and a place where neighborhood families gather. Partial tree coverage means you can find some respite from the summer sun during certain hours, and there are plenty of seating options scattered throughout - traditional benches, picnic tables, and those charming log stools that double as natural play elements.
Beyond the playground, you can find an open grassy area that's excellent for impromptu frisbee games, picnic blankets, or just rolling down a hill (because some joys never get old). There's also a quiet grove with a Little Free Library - a fantastic spot to discover your next read or leave behind a book for someone else to enjoy.
The Neighborhood Green
Positioned in Ann Arbor's Thurston neighborhood, Bromley Park is a typical neighborhood community park. You'll need to use street parking when visiting, but the park connects nicely to surrounding sidewalks, making it easily accessible for those living nearby.
It's worth noting that this modest park doesn't have bathrooms or dedicated walking trails that you might find at larger parks. But what Bromley Park lacks in facilities, it makes up for in charm - it's a tranquil space where you can unwind, where kids can play freely, and where the community comes together in the simple joy of being outdoors.
