Natural Environment

Fritz Park is a charming 5-acre neighborhood park known for its serene natural environment and its suitability for families with young children. Nestled between residential areas and Eberwhite Elementary School, the park serves as a green bridge, connecting the urban surroundings to the larger Eberwhite Woods and Nature Area.

Visitors can enjoy the wooded trails that weave through a rich oak-hickory forest, home to an impressive diversity of 81 native plant species. These include black snakeroot, woodland phlox, and flowering dogwood.

Playground and Features

At the heart of Fritz Park lies a small play area with a low play structure, baby swings, and a standalone tire swing. This playground is most suitable for younger children, with features like a mini-rock wall tailored for preschoolers' enjoyment and development.

Tall trees surrounding the playground provide partial shade throughout the day, creating a comfortable environment for families. The surface around the play structures consists of wooden mulch for added safety.

Access and Trails

Fritz Park's accessible gravel trails connect to sidewalks, making it ideal for leisurely walks or rides with strollers. The park does not have traditional amenities like restrooms, picnic benches, or pavilions, but it does offer a peaceful atmosphere where visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll or nature-based exploration.

For those interested in more expansive activities, the park connects seamlessly to the nearby Eberwhite Nature Area.

Parking and Entrances

Parking options include street parking on Hewett Drive and Russell Road to the east or Northwood Street to the west. Entrance points are available along Pauline Boulevard and at intersections like Hewett and Russell.
