Location and Landscape

Rolling hills are one of Leslie Park's standout features - pretty enough for views and perfectly suited as sledding spots when winter blankets Ann Arbor with snow. The park spreads across 38 welcoming acres off Dhu Varren Road in the northeast corner of the city, a peaceful green retreat for both locals and visitors.

The landscape is a delightful mix of open meadows, wooded sections, and recreational spaces.

Natural Features

From the sledding hill, you can catch some truly lovely panoramic views of the Leslie Park Golf Course next door. The park's natural setting attracts all sorts of wildlife, making it ideal for casual nature watching or peaceful strolls.

Certain sections of the park maintain a wonderfully untamed character, with open grassy areas well-suited for afternoon picnics, impromptu frisbee games, or simply sprawling out with a good book. These spaces give you plenty of room to just be in nature, whether that means active play or quiet contemplation.

Recreational Facilities

Leslie Park doesn't skimp on recreational options. Kids will love the two separate playground areas designed for different age groups, ensuring the little ones have safe, age-appropriate places to climb, slide, and imagine.

Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the athletic fields, including a diamond field excellent for softball or baseball games. Tennis players and pickleball fans aren't left out either - the park's six pickleball courts have become something of a local hotspot.

If basketball is more your thing, you can find courts ready for your next pickup game. While there are some walking paths winding through the grounds, they're somewhat limited in scope - you won't find extensive running trails throughout the entire park, so serious joggers might want to plan accordingly.
