Harrison Meadows Park sits along the Northern Tier Trail and is one of eight interconnected community parks in the East Lansing area, spanning a generous 47.2 acres of multi-use natural space. The park features local wildlife, diverse plant species, and wetland habitats.

The landscape here is anything but monotonous - you'll find yourself wandering through wetlands, open meadows, and beneath the canopy of mature trees that provide homes to various birds and wildlife. Look up and you might spot the bird boxes placed within the park to encourage our feathered friends to stick around. The butterfly garden and raised perennial berm add splashes of color and life, enhancing the park's natural charm.

Getting Active

The paved trails that meander through the greenery are meant for a morning jog, a leisurely afternoon walk, or some quality birdwatching. Many locals make the nicely paved trail part of their regular exercise routine or just a place to clear their heads. Harrison Meadows balances active recreation spaces with quieter natural areas - offering options for both active and contemplative visitors.

If you're bringing the family along, you'll appreciate the playground featuring some unique structures that kids seem to love. The basketball court is kept in great shape, and there's a pavilion offering much-needed shade on sunny days. Picnic tables and a small playfield round out the amenities, making this a go-to spot for family outings. It's not uncommon to spot frogs and other critters while you're here - a little nature lesson without even trying!

Getting Around & Conservation Efforts

You can find all facilities easily accessible from the circular parking area. Community volunteers contribute to conservation initiatives like removing invasive plants and planting native shrubs and trees. These efforts help maintain the park's ecological value.

Dog owners, rejoice - the park is dog-friendly, so your four-legged companions are welcome to join in on the outdoor fun. Just note that there are no restroom facilities available, but the small picnic area provides a nice spot to take a break or enjoy some snacks in the open air.
