Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Kansas City, Missouri, is a community-centered recreational space dedicated to honoring the legacy of the civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The park, formerly known as Brush Creek Park, was renamed and dedicated on April 4, 1978.

It is located at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Woodland Avenue. Over the years, the park has undergone significant changes, including the addition of modern facilities and amenities to better serve the local community.

All-Inclusive Playground

A major highlight of the park is its state-of-the-art, all-inclusive playground, officially opened on August 28, 2021. This $1 million project, funded by Patrick Mahomes' 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, includes a wide array of features designed for children of all abilities.

The playground features a custom net play structure, climbing walls, a wheelchair-accessible spinner, musical instruments, synthetic turf mounds, and slides suitable for different age groups. The inclusive design ensures that children with physical and developmental challenges can engage and play alongside others, fostering a shared space for families.
