A Fresh Take After Renovations

Pleasant Lea Park just got a complete makeover, and honestly, we think it's looking pretty fantastic. This peaceful outdoor space gives you a chance to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nature, all while offering plenty to do.

Landworks Studio teamed up with Lee's Summit Parks & Recreation to craft a thoughtful master plan for the park. Their collaboration has transformed this space into a pleasant park with activities for different interests and age groups.

Kid-Friendly Play Zones

Little ones will get a kick out of the treehouse-themed playground that smartly divides play areas for toddlers (ages 2-5) and older kids (5-12). No more worrying about your preschooler getting trampled by enthusiastic middle schoolers!

The playground comes equipped with slides, a climbing wall, and features soft turf surfaces instead of those pesky wood chips that always end up in shoes. It's both safer and more accessible, plus the equipment offers just the right amount of challenge in a nicely shaded area - a blessing during those hot Missouri summers.

Get Your Game On

If you're into sports, you'll appreciate the variety of courts available. Whether your thing is pickleball, racquetball, basketball, or tennis, there's a space for you to play.

The courts look practically new after the renovation, with two dedicated racquetball courts and a half-court for basketball. They're well-maintained and ready for everything from casual games to more competitive matches.

Nature Escapes

A smooth, paved walking trail meanders through the park, fantastic for everything from gentle strolls to power walks. The path is well-maintained and relatively flat, making it accessible for most visitors.

What makes this trail special is how it's enveloped in greenery, with trees and foliage creating a genuine nature experience right in the city. For the more adventurous, several dirt paths branch off from the main trail, inviting you to explore deeper into the wooded areas where you might stumble upon some unexpected delights.

Practical Comforts

Need a place for a small gathering? The park offers a covered gazebo with four picnic tables, plus additional seating near the trail. The picnic area sits elevated above the path, giving you a nice overview of the park while you enjoy your sandwich.

Dog owners, you're welcome here! The park is pet-friendly with doggy bag stations conveniently placed throughout. While there are portable toilets available, do note that permanent restroom facilities aren't currently on site - something to keep in mind if you're planning an extended visit.
