Forest Park

Historical Significance

Forest Park is a prominent urban park located in western St. Louis, Missouri. Opened on June 24, 1876, it spans 1,326 acres, making it one of the largest urban parks in the United States.

The park's creation coincided with the centenary of the United States Declaration of Independence, reflecting its historical significance.

Forest Park has played a pivotal role in St. Louis's history, hosting the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition (World's Fair) and serving as a venue for the 1904 Summer Olympics.
