Sitting at the northern tip of St. Louis, North Riverfront Park sprawls across 250 acres along the mighty Mississippi River. Thanks to the Missouri Department of Conservation and their St. Louis Urban Fishing Program, the lake regularly gets fresh supplies of channel catfish and hybrid sunfish. One of the coolest features here is the St. Louis Riverfront Trail that cuts right through the park. This 12-mile pathway isn't just a trail - it's your ticket to exploring the Mississippi shoreline by foot, running shoes, or bike wheels. The smooth, well-paved surface welcomes all kinds of bikes, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can cross the Chain-of-Rocks Bridge to connect with the Madison County Transit Trail on the Illinois side.
