Tucked between Interstate 64 and Chouteau Avenue, you'll come across Chouteau Park - a cozy 2.8-acre green space in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood of St. Louis. Since its dedication in 2008, this little park has been steadily coming into its own as one of the newer additions to the city's park system.

Despite its modest footprint, there's something genuinely pleasant about the atmosphere here. It's like finding a pocket of calm amid the urban landscape - small, but with big potential.

Play & Fitness Features

While still evolving, Chouteau Park already offers several cool amenities to enjoy. Kids gravitate toward the playground with its swing sets, including some uniquely designed swings you won't find at your average park.

Fitness enthusiasts, rejoice! The park houses a basketball court and an impressive array of exercise stations. With two calisthenics stations, parallel bars, and three additional workout spots, you can definitely get your sweat on here without a gym membership.

A winding walking path invites casual strolls, while the climbing mound gives children another fun way to burn off energy. And yes, even your four-legged friends have their own space in the dedicated dog park area.

What's Coming Next

The park continues to develop according to its 2009 design by H3 studios. Future plans include adding a multipurpose sports field and an outdoor amphitheater - exciting additions to look forward to!

Environmental sustainability is also part of the vision, with a planned rain garden that will help reduce water runoff into the city's sewer system. Note that the park currently lacks restroom facilities, which would certainly be a welcome addition in future development phases.

Recent Touches

The park has seen some nice updates lately, including a classic St. Louis park sign that adds a touch of civic identity and newly planted trees that will grow alongside the park itself. The grounds are well-kept and clean, making this spot ideal for impromptu family gatherings.

While Chouteau Park is still finding its final form, it provides a nice green space for residents of Forest Park Southeast - or as locals affectionately call it, "The Grove." It's a park with promise, growing right along with its community.
