History and Dedication
The 110.2-acre park was formerly known as Clydesdale Park before being renamed in 2016 to honor Officer Blake C. Snyder, a St. Louis County Police officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Trails and Natural Features
The park features a network of trails suitable for hiking, walking, and running. The main paved trail, Fox Run Fitness Trail, is 0.7 miles long and includes workout stations along its route.
Other trails include the natural surface Hickory Hollow Trail, which runs for 0.6 miles along Gravois Creek, offering visitors a chance to experience the park's natural beauty and wildlife.
Gravois Creek runs through the park and provides scenic views. The landscape is diverse, featuring wooded areas, open fields, and rocky terrain along the creek. This variety of environments supports local flora and fauna, making the park an excellent spot for nature observation.
Recreational Facilities
For families and children, the park offers a playground area and picnic facilities. Sports enthusiasts can make use of the park's baseball fields.
The park connects to the larger Grant's Trail, a 10-mile paved trail that extends beyond the park boundaries, offering additional recreational opportunities for cyclists and long-distance walkers.
Accessibility
The park is designed to be accessible, with parking lots available for convenient access to various areas and trails within the park.
