Park History

Benson Park is a 217-acre public park located in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. Established in 1931 when the city of Omaha acquired land north of Military Avenue, the park has since become a popular recreational destination for local residents.

Natural Features

The park features a scenic lagoon that serves as a focal point for various activities. Visitors can enjoy fishing in the lagoon or simply appreciate the serene views it offers.

A cement loop approximately 1/3 mile in length surrounds the lagoon, providing a pleasant path for afternoon walks.

The park's terrain is diverse, encompassing both hilly areas and lowlands, which adds to its visual appeal and provides varied landscapes for different activities. Full-grown trees throughout the park offer shade and contribute to the natural beauty of the area.
