About the Location
Where to Find It
Tucked away at 4875 Marshall Drive (139th & "O" Street), Westchester Park sits just south of L Street, behind Hobby Lobby. It's accessible from most parts of western Omaha.
The gates are open from 5AM to 11PM daily.
Batter Up!
At its heart, Westchester Park is a baseball and softball complex with several well-kept fields. With outfield fences at about 200 feet, the fields accommodate everything from casual games to competitive tournaments.
There's a batting cage where you can perfect that swing, and the complex regularly hosts softball tournaments, especially for youth leagues. Local teams - including many girls' softball squads - call these diamonds home for their practices and games.
Take a Break
Watching games all day? The park offers several covered picnic areas with shaded tables where you can relax between innings. Shade trees throughout the complex provide relief from the sun while watching games.
When hunger strikes, head to the concession stand run by the Millard Sports Association. Just be aware that if you're watching a game on one of the outer fields, you might need to trek a bit for those nachos and hot dogs.
Restrooms are available, but cleanliness can vary depending on when you visit.
More Than Baseball
Not into watching baseball all day? The park includes a playground where kids can burn off energy while others in your group enjoy the sporting action. It's a nice touch that makes the park work for the whole family, not just the sports enthusiasts.
There's plenty of open space for both organized events and just hanging out on a nice day.
Getting There and Parking
One heads-up: parking is limited compared to the number of fields (four), which can get tricky during tournaments or when multiple games are happening at once. The parking area was originally designed for fewer fields, so you might want to arrive early for big events to snag a spot.
Community Use
Westchester Park is frequently used by local sports leagues, particularly youth softball teams. Many neighborhood families gather here for games and practices throughout the season.
