Cornerstone Park is a 100-acre recreational area located in Henderson, Nevada. The park features a 31-acre lake, known as Railroad Lake, which serves as its centerpiece.

Originally a former quarry, the land has been transformed into a vibrant public space that opened on October 6, 2012.

Trails and Accessibility

The park offers a variety of walking and biking trails that encircle the lake and marsh areas, providing visitors with opportunities for exercise and nature observation. There are both paved and dirt paths available, catering to different preferences.

The paved roads are equipped with motion-sensor lighting, making evening visits safer and more comfortable.

Cornerstone Park is known for its diverse wildlife, particularly its bird population. Visitors can observe various species including American avocets, great egrets, black-necked stilts, long-billed curlews, and ring-billed gulls.

The park also hosts resident species such as pied-billed grebes, double-crested cormorants, Canada geese, and several types of ducks and herons.

The park provides ample space for picnicking, with both shaded individual tables and a large patio pavilion available. This pavilion, located near the restrooms, is often used for special events.
