Nestled on the side of a mountain in southeast Henderson, Nevada, Hidden Falls Park spans a generous 60 acres near Horizon Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway. This somewhat hidden gem functions as both a neighborhood hangout and a recreation area, with something to offer just about everyone.

What makes this park special is its tucked-away location, with great views of the surrounding mountains and valley. Recreational Facilities

If you're the active type, you'll find plenty to keep you busy here. The basketball court is great for pickup games, while the 7,500 square foot skate park gives skaters room to show off their skills with street features like hand rails, ledges, and stairs.

The skate park isn't just any concrete playground - it was professionally designed by SITE Design Group, Inc. and built by California Skateparks. Just know that it closes at 5 p.m. daily due to lighting and safety considerations, so plan your sessions accordingly.

Across the park, you can find well-maintained grassy fields that are meant for impromptu games of soccer, frisbee, or football. These open spaces also make ideal spots to throw down a blanket for a picnic or just lie back and cloud-watch for a while.

Family-Friendly Areas

There are two distinct playground areas for children of different ages. The little ones get their own toddler-friendly zone, while older children can tackle more challenging climbing obstacles in their dedicated space. Both playgrounds feature shaded play structures - particularly useful under that intense Nevada sun.

During summer months, the splash pad is where it's at, running until 8 PM daily. While it's not the biggest splash pad around, it does the job perfectly for cooling off on hot days, and local kids seem to love it all the same.

Dog Park

Four-legged family members haven't been forgotten either. The dog park features thoughtfully separate areas for large and small breeds, creating a safer environment for all pups. There's usually a friendly vibe among the pet parents, and the area is kept in good shape.

One nice perk? The park stays open until midnight, making evening visits with your dog totally doable after work. Just be aware that the area does have some wildlife visitors - coyotes have been spotted after dark, so keep your pets close during late-night outings.

Feeling adventurous? The Amargosa Trailhead connects you to a network of hiking paths that wind through the surrounding mountains. These well-marked trails offer impressive views of both urban and natural landscapes.

You don't need to be a seasoned hiker to enjoy the trails - there are options for various skill levels, including some easier routes that work well for casual walkers. Safety has been considered too, with emergency rescue locations marked along the way. The interpretive signage adds an educational element, teaching you about the local environment as you explore.

The park's elevated position might require a bit more effort to reach, but the panoramic vistas make it worthwhile - especially if you're looking to reconnect with nature without venturing too far from civilization.
