About the Location

Park Overview

Located in Henderson, Nevada, Heritage Park stretches across 160 acres of land and is one of the city's largest public parks and sports complexes. What you'll notice right away is how meticulously maintained the grounds are - clean pathways, well-kept green spaces, and a general sense of safety that makes it well-suited for family outings.

Sports and Recreation

Sports enthusiasts will find plenty of facilities here. Heritage Park features lighted ball fields with warm-up areas and lighted multi-use fields that are active year-round. From soccer tournaments to baseball games, lacrosse matches to flag football - this place sees it all.

The park houses thirteen soccer fields (two with turf and the rest with grass) and two baseball fields that are consistently well-maintained. It's no wonder this has become a go-to venue for youth sports and tournaments in the area.

There's also an amphitheater where you can catch outdoor performances and community events when they're scheduled.

Bark Park

Dog owners will appreciate that Heritage Park includes a 5-acre off-leash dog park known as the Bark Park, which is popular among Southern Nevada's dog owners. What makes it special is how thoughtfully it's divided - separate sections for small dogs, large dogs, and a communal area where pups of all sizes can mingle.

The Bark Park doesn't skimp on features either. There's an agility course for the athletic dogs, a walking trail for leisurely strolls, charming dog bone-themed benches for humans, and a refreshing water splash pad area where dogs can cool off when the Nevada heat kicks in.

You'll find drinking stations for both four-legged and two-legged visitors, and the friendly atmosphere makes it easy to strike up conversations with fellow dog lovers.

Playgrounds and Recreation

Kids haven't been forgotten in the park's design. Multiple playgrounds cater to different age groups, with dedicated areas for younger and older children. Even the tiniest visitors have swing sets just their size.

A walking path encircles the entire park and connects to neighboring Cinnamon Ridge Park. These trails are suitable for casual strolls, dog walking, or daily exercise routines.

Amenities

The park offers plenty of open grass areas where you can toss a frisbee or just lounge on a blanket. If you're planning a gathering, you'll appreciate the picnic shelters and tables scattered across the grounds. Clean restrooms are conveniently located around the park - a small detail that makes a big difference during longer visits.

You'll also find outdoor classrooms that provide unique opportunities for environmental education and group learning experiences.

Aquatic Complex and Senior Center

When the temperature rises, the park's indoor aquatic complex becomes a popular destination, with swimming pools and classes for all ages. Right next door, a senior center buzzes with activity for those 50 and older. It's equipped with a fitness center, library, billiards, crafts areas, and dining services that offer good food at reasonable prices.

Special Events

Year-round, Heritage Park transforms for various community celebrations. The Fourth of July celebration is particularly noteworthy, drawing locals with its impressive fireworks display that has become an annual tradition for many Henderson families.

Q's Court

In a quieter corner of Heritage Park, you'll come across Q's Court - a special area dedicated to meditation and reflection. This meaningful space honors the memory of Quinton Robbins, who lost his life during the Route 91 Harvest Festival tragedy in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017.
