About the Location

Park Overview

Found in Las Vegas, Nevada, Alexander Villas Park spans a generous 13 acres of green space that's been serving the community since 1985. After getting a size boost in 2000, this local park has become a go-to spot for locals looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Sin City.

Situated in the Sunrise Manor area, the park strikes that perfect balance between natural beauty and fun activities. With its well-kept trails and open spaces, you can find plenty of room for a casual stroll, morning jog, or whatever outdoor activity catches your fancy.

Recreational Facilities

Alexander Villas offers a variety of activities for visitors. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of the baseball field complete with spectator bleachers, shoot some hoops at the basketball courts, or claim a patch of the open fields for impromptu games.

On hot Nevada days (and let's be honest, there are plenty), the splash pad water play area is very popular with families with kids. Speaking of the little ones, there are two distinct playgrounds - including a separate area designed specifically for toddlers to play safely away from the big kids' roughhousing.

Fitness buffs will appreciate the one-mile walking trail that loops around the park - meant for daily steps, dog walking, or training for that upcoming 5K. If you're looking to mix up your workout routine, the outdoor fitness equipment offers a free alternative to those pricey gym memberships.

Picnic and Relaxation Areas

For outdoor meals, the park has shaded picnic tables and BBQ pits suitable for everything from casual lunches to birthday celebrations. These spots tend to fill up quickly on weekends, especially during pleasant weather.

There's no shortage of grassy areas where you can simply lay out a blanket, crack open a book, or just cloud-watch for a while. The park maintains a surprisingly peaceful atmosphere during the day, offering a nice contrast to the non-stop energy Las Vegas is known for.

Recent Improvements

In 2017, Alexander Villas got a serious upgrade thanks to Clark County approving nearly $3 million in improvements. The park now boasts new playground equipment, better lighting, a freshly built basketball court, an extended trail, and even a climbing wall for the more adventurous visitors.

These welcome changes came courtesy of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which provided funding since the park serves an area where most nearby households fall into low to moderate income brackets.

Accessibility and Hours

You can visit Alexander Villas daily between 6 AM and 11 PM. There is a parking lot available, but it's on the smaller side relative to the park's size, so arriving early on busy days is your best bet. Restrooms are available on-site, however their condition can vary depending on when you visit.

Dog owners, your four-legged friends are welcome here! Many regulars bring their pups to enjoy the walking trails. Just remember to keep them leashed and clean up after them - you can find waste disposal stations conveniently placed throughout the grounds.
