Cougar Creek Park is a 15-acre neighborhood park located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened in 2020, the park was designed to celebrate the rural nature of the Southwest valley with unique features that highlight the natural elements of the surrounding area.
The park's centerpiece is its distinctive splash pad, which includes a "river" with wheels that can be spun and dams that can be opened and closed as water runs down. This interactive water feature provides a fun and engaging experience, especially popular during hot summer days. The splash pad is open from April 1 to October 31, from 7 am to 10 pm daily.
In addition to the splash pad, Cougar Creek Park features a playground with an outdoorsy and musical theme. The playground includes multiple slides, musical sections, two zip lines (one of which is a chair-style), and a unique "rolling" slide. Scattered throughout the park are innovative rock play structures designed to spark creativity and physical activity.
For those seeking exercise or leisurely strolls, the park offers a one-mile walking trail that meanders through the scenic landscape. The park also includes large grassy areas, providing ample space for picnics, games, or relaxation.
Cougar Creek Park caters to various interests with its diverse amenities. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the two pickleball courts, while those interested in local history may appreciate the slot canyon archaeological dig area. An outdoor classroom near the corner closest to the nearby elementary school serves as an educational resource.
The park's design incorporates elements resembling rocks, caves, fallen tree logs, and Ocotillo slat canopies, further emphasizing its natural theme.
