About the Location

Location and Overview

Tucked away in northwestern Albuquerque, Riverview Park sits near the intersection of Golf Course Road. It's a modest green space that offers a short, easy route with sweeping open vistas and charming neighborhood views.

Despite its relatively small size, this quiet, well-kept park is popular with locals looking to stretch their legs or enjoy some fresh air. If you're planning a visit, the park welcomes guests daily from 6AM to 10PM.

Trail Connections

One of the cool things about Riverview Park is how it connects to other nearby trails. Head to the southern end and you'll find yourself at Mariposa Basin Park, complete with playgrounds, sports fields, and a pretty little pond.

The Mariposa Basin Recreation Trail winds throughout that park too, giving you another option if you're looking to extend your outdoor time.

Path Description

The trail from Riverview Park heads north along a corridor lined with trees and shrubs on the east side of Golf Course Road. Eventually, it breaks away from the road and meanders along a fence behind some spacious suburban homes - it's actually quite peaceful and secluded back there.

If you make your way to the northern end, you'll connect with the Piedras Marcadas Trail, which opens up possibilities to explore further east or northwest.

The paths across the park are paved and great for a casual stroll. Just a heads up: you might want to stick to the path rather than venture across the grass, as those areas can harbor stickers and burrs that aren't fun to deal with.

Park Amenities

Need a break? The park offers a covered picnic area with four tables, plus several benches scattered around the grounds. These shaded spots are well-suited for catching your breath or enjoying a snack.

The playground is a highlight for families with little ones. It's clean, well-maintained, and sized just right for younger children. The safety features are helpful for parents watching their children play.

Visitor Information

Four-legged friends are welcome at Riverview Park, however you'll need to keep them leashed at all times. There's plenty of open grassy space for casual games or just lounging about.

You should know that there aren't any public restrooms available, so plan accordingly. As for parking, you'll discover limited parallel spaces along the adjacent streets - nothing fancy, but usually sufficient for this neighborhood retreat.
