A Park Above

New Mexico's First Fully-Inclusive Park

A Park Above is a unique recreational space located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Opened in 2015, it is considered the first fully-inclusive and universally accessible park in the state.

The park spans approximately 6 acres within the Cabezon community of Rio Rancho.

Accessibility Features

Designed to exceed standard ADA requirements, A Park Above aims to eliminate physical and social barriers, allowing people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the park's facilities.

The park's development involved extensive community stakeholder involvement and research to ensure it meets the needs of individuals with a broad range of disabilities and abilities.

Play and Recreation Areas
