If you're the sporty type, Buckland has several options. The park features several open fields where soccer and lacrosse enthusiasts gather regularly. Regardless of whether you're part of a travel team needing a full-sized field or just want to kick a ball around on a half-sized pitch, the well-kept grassy areas provide plenty of room to play.

Baseball fans haven't been forgotten either. The park houses multiple baseball diamonds, including two little league fields and one modified/varsity field. While the fields are generally well-maintained, you might occasionally encounter longer infield grass or fences in need of some TLC.

Court sports more your thing? The four tennis courts offer plenty of space for rallies, while the basketball courts - which many visitors particularly love - provide a great spot for pickup games. There's even space for volleyball if that's what gets you moving. For those who prefer a gentler pace, the walking trails circling the park offer a peaceful one-mile journey through natural surroundings.

No need to cut your park day short - Buckland comes equipped with clean indoor restrooms centrally located for convenience. The park lists a concession stand among its amenities, although it's worth noting it isn't always open when you might expect.

Planning a gathering? Several covered pavilions scattered within the park make perfect spots for picnics and small get-togethers of 10-30 people. Some are strategically placed near play structures - well-suited for keeping an eye on the kids while enjoying your lunch. For bigger celebrations, check out the lodge on the south side of the park. Available for rent through Brighton Parks and Recreation, it's ideal for events with 50+ guests and comes complete with bathrooms, a kitchenette, tables, chairs, a fireplace, and a patio with benches.

You'll generally find plenty of parking, but during popular events spaces can fill up quickly. One consistent highlight? The grounds and facilities are impressively clean and well-maintained.
