A Bit of History

Located on the southside of Syracuse, McKinley Park has been serving the community since 1920, when the city purchased what was once a simple brickyard with a pond and well. Fast forward to today, and this 7.77-acre green space has transformed into a cherished neighborhood retreat on West Newell Street.

McKinley Park offers a variety of outdoor facilities for active visitors. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a game on the softball diamond or shoot some hoops at the basketball courts.

If you're visiting with kids, they'll love the modern playground complete with swings, slides, and climbing bars where they can burn off energy while you take a well-deserved breather.

Make a Splash

When summer temperatures soar, the park's 50-meter outdoor swimming pool becomes the neighborhood's favorite cooling spot. With depths ranging from 3'6" to 7 feet, it's suitable for swimmers of different skill levels. The pool also features a fun spray feature that adds an extra element of aquatic enjoyment.
