About the Location
What You'll Find Here
Shove Park has several well-maintained baseball fields, perfect whether you're part of a local league or just want to toss a ball around with friends. The fields accommodate players from beginners to more experienced athletes.
The park's star attraction might be its indoor ice arena, which runs on its own schedule separate from the main park. If you're looking to glide across the ice or practice your hockey skills, you can typically drop in during weekday open skates from 2PM-4PM or weekend sessions from 2PM-5PM. It's a year-round spot that draws both families and serious hockey players alike.
For the Little Ones
Kids have their choice of three age-appropriate playgrounds spread across the park. Each area is designed with different age groups in mind, offering safe spaces where children can play and make new friends.
You'll discover the usual swings and plenty of open space for kids to burn off energy. A unique park favorite? The creek area where children love collecting pet rocks - a simple pleasure that turns into a mini-adventure of natural discovery.
Natural Beauty
A gentle stream winds through Shove Park, adding a touch of tranquility to your visit. During summer months, don't be surprised to see kids splashing around in the creek, cooling off while having fun.
Nature lovers might appreciate the short but charming gorge hiking trail that leads to a small dam and sometimes a waterfall (depending on recent rainfall). The trail isn't heavily marked, so you'll need to embrace a bit of exploration. For those who prefer wide open spaces, the hilltop open space field provides a great spot for a leisurely stroll or just sitting back and enjoying the surroundings.
Good to Know
Planning a gathering? The park offers reservable pavilions and a gazebo equipped with grilling facilities - ideal for family reunions, birthday celebrations, or casual meetups with friends.
You'll come across restrooms in the main building that are generally well-maintained.
Keep in mind that Shove Park follows a carry-in/carry-out policy for trash, so you'll need to take your garbage with you when you leave.
Two important notes: Dogs aren't allowed in the park (there are signs at the entrance to remind you), and please respect the 25mph neighborhood speed limit when driving to the park for everyone's safety.
