About the Location

Recreation Facilities

Cordelia Park has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and sprayground that are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The pool features a 50-yard lap section, a dive well, and a waterslide that's popular with kids and the young at heart.

It costs just $2 per person to enjoy the pool area. The sprayground (splash pad) is completely free and runs from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. If you show up and it seems quiet, don't worry - there's a button to activate the water features.

Children's Areas

Little ones have plenty to explore at Cordelia Park with freshly updated playground equipment designed for different age groups. You'll discover dedicated play zones for toddlers (2-5 years) and older kids (5-12 years), complete with swings and climbing structures that keep them engaged for hours.

Parents will appreciate that the playground sits partially shaded by mature trees, offering relief on hot Charlotte days. It's also right by the parking lot, making it a breeze to access even with strollers and tired little legs in tow.

Sports and Trails

Basketball enthusiasts can shoot hoops on the full-court outdoor basketball court. If you're more into leisurely activities, the walking trails and open green spaces provide perfect spots for a peaceful stroll, an impromptu picnic, or letting your dog burn off some energy.

The Little Sugar Creek Greenway cuts right through part of Cordelia Park, connecting you to Charlotte's broader trail network. Many locals use the park as a launching point for bike rides or walks along this greenway that stretches from NoDa to Midtown and beyond.

Event Spaces

Looking for a place to host a gathering? The indoor pavilion at Cordelia Park might be just what you need. With amazing views of the Charlotte skyline, this space can accommodate up to 70 people, however it feels most comfortable with groups of 48 or fewer.

The pavilion comes equipped with clean restrooms, a kitchen area, and audio-visual equipment. There's something warm and inviting about the brick interior wall that creates an intimate atmosphere - meant for birthday parties, baby showers, or team meetings.

Swimming Facilities

The pool area features three water slides and a diving board for those who enjoy a bit more excitement in the deeper end. You'll discover both sunny spots and shaded areas with picnic tables and lounge chairs where you can relax between dips.

Safety comes first here, with attentive lifeguards and security staff keeping watch. You should know that the pool doesn't have a shallow section for very young children, so swimmers need to be comfortable in deeper water.

Park Features and Amenities

Cordelia Park offers nice views of the Charlotte skyline. The park's elevated position is appreciated by photographers and those who enjoy urban landscapes. On special occasions, you might even catch a fireworks display from this prime vantage point.

When nature calls, clean restrooms are available inside the event center and near the pool. There's also a porta-potty conveniently located in the parking lot close to the playground.

Community Features

The park's community garden brings neighbors together as they tend to their plots of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. If you're planning to spend the day, you'll appreciate the picnic areas complete with tables and grills available for everyone to use.

Nature lovers shouldn't miss the butterfly garden, which offers another excellent view of downtown Charlotte. As part of the vibrant NoDa neighborhood, Cordelia Park is a cherished gathering space where community connections bloom alongside the gardens.
