About the Location
Recreational Facilities
Spread across 107 acres, this regional park has something for every sports enthusiast. If softball is your thing, you'll discover four well-maintained fields with lights for those evening games. Soccer players haven't been forgotten either - there are two lighted fields, one with natural grass for the purists and another with artificial turf for all-weather play.
Looking to shoot some hoops? The park offers a full basketball court, however you'll want to wrap up your game before sunset as it's not lighted. There's also a volleyball court if you're in the mood for a friendly match with friends.
Playground Area
Kids under 12 will have a blast at the recently renovated, fully fenced playground. The modern equipment includes a seriously super tall slide that's become a favorite among the more adventurous little ones, various climbing routes for budding mountaineers, and a good old-fashioned merry-go-round.
The artificial turf surface means fewer skinned knees, and multiple play structures ensure there's plenty to explore. There's no shortage of swings either. While you can find some shaded spots to escape the summer heat, you might want to bring hats on particularly sunny days as additional shade would be welcome.
Dog-Friendly Area
Dog owners, rejoice! The Davie Dog Park is a canine paradise spanning over 5 acres of recently renovated space. Your four-legged friends can roam freely in this fully fenced environment that feels more like a natural retreat than a typical dog park.
What makes this spot special are the three connected sections nestled among beautiful forest scenery, giving dogs plenty of room to sprint and explore. Smaller pups have their own dedicated area where they can play safely away from larger breeds. You'll discover several water stations throughout to keep your furry companions hydrated.
The wooded trails create an expansive, natural feel that's well-suited for sociable dogs who love off-leash adventures. If you prefer a quieter experience, weekdays tend to be less crowded than weekend mornings.
Leisure Activities
Not in the mood for high-energy sports? The park offers gentler pursuits too. Try your hand at the two horseshoe pits or take a peaceful stroll along the walking trails that meander throughout the property.
The park also features a serene pond that adds to its natural charm. Keep your eyes peeled - you might catch a glimpse of deer or other wildlife going about their day.
Amenities
Practical amenities haven't been overlooked here. You can find both indoor and outdoor shelters when you need a break from the sun. For larger gatherings, there's a spacious party hall available (you'll likely need to book this online in advance).
Clean indoor restrooms and water fountains ensure comfort during your visit. There's plenty of parking available, but it can fill up quickly during game days and busy weekends - you might want to arrive early.
Environmentally conscious? You'll appreciate the drop-off bins specifically for recycling cardboard.
