Penn Wright Baseball Stadium brings America's favorite pastime to Barber Park with its professional-quality field, press box, concessions, and comfortable stadium seating. The nearby softball field also features quality seating for spectators - meant for catching a weekend game.

If you're into disc golf, you'll appreciate the free 18-hole course winding through the park. The course isn't particularly long, but it offers technical challenges that compensate for the shorter distance. Those trees definitely keep you honest with your throws, requiring precision and careful planning on each hole.

Family Fun Spaces

Kids have plenty of room to play at the spacious playground, but you might have to take turns on the limited swings. During the summer months, the real star of the show is the sprayground (splash pad), which operates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Children can cool off in the various water features, while parents can sit in the nearby pool chairs or under shaded tables with umbrellas.

Planning a family gathering? The park offers several picnic shelters complete with tables, grills, and electrical outlets. You can reserve these ahead of time, or simply take advantage of the first-come, first-served grills and picnic tables scattered across the grounds.

The park's outdoor amphitheater features a uniquely designed stage that makes it an excellent venue for community events. The layout provides space for concerts, performances, and various public events.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 8AM to 7PM, which works well for most schedules (though early birds might wish for earlier access for morning workouts).

If you have young children, keep an eye out for the Safety Town program occasionally offered by the Greensboro Police Department, specifically designed for kids 6 and under.

For a quieter experience, venture across the street from the main park area to find a serene space well-suited for flower and bird watching - a little cozy location that complements the more active main grounds.
