Located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, LeBauer Park spreads across 4 acres of urban landscape. Opening its gates on August 8, 2016, this green haven came to life thanks to a generous $10 million gift from Carolyn LeBauer's estate.

The vision? Create a central gathering space that naturally connects the cultural and civic spaces dotting downtown Greensboro.

Nature in the City

Wandering through LeBauer, you'll find yourself surrounded by thoughtfully designed gardens hosting over 350 trees and 60 different plant species. The landscape architects blended classic Southern garden favorites with hardy native plants, creating spaces that feel both familiar and fresh.

Art in the Sky

The centerpiece of LeBauer Park is undoubtedly its Great Lawn and performance pavilion, where community events regularly bring the space to life. Look up, and you'll be mesmerized by "Where We Met" - a spectacular fiber art installation by Janet Echelman that floats overhead.

This colorful aerial sculpture, spanning an impressive 200 by 130 feet above the Great Lawn, is a beautiful nod to Greensboro's rich textile heritage.

Kid-Friendly Adventures

If you've got little ones in tow, the fully fenced play area is a must-visit. Kids love scrambling up the climbing wall, exploring the topographic landforms, digging in the sand play area, and racing down the unique roller slides built into a large hill. The rubberized surface throughout keeps knees and elbows safe during enthusiastic play.

On warm days, the splash pad becomes the park's hotspot, with children darting through refreshing water features - a wonderful way to cool down in the Carolina heat.
