Lake Lynn Park is a 75-acre recreational area located in North Raleigh, North Carolina. The park is centered around Lake Lynn, a 55.7-acre man-made lake created in 1976 by damming Hare Snipe Creek for flood control purposes.
The park features a 2.8-mile paved trail that loops around the lake, offering visitors scenic views of the water and surrounding natural areas. This trail is part of the Capital Area Greenway system and is popular for walking, jogging, and cycling. Portions of the trail include wooden boardwalks and bridges that traverse wetland areas.
Lake Lynn Park provides habitats for various wildlife, particularly birds and aquatic species. Visitors can often observe turtles basking in the sun along the shoreline or on partially submerged logs. The lake and its surroundings attract a variety of bird species, making it a good spot for birdwatching.
In addition to the trail and natural areas, the park includes recreational facilities such as tennis courts, a playground, and a community center. The community center offers various programs and activities for residents of all ages.
While swimming is not permitted in Lake Lynn, the park does allow fishing from designated areas. The lake is periodically stocked with fish by local authorities.
