Established in 1972, this 8.6-acre green space offers a variety of recreational facilities for local residents and visitors in southwest Raleigh, North Carolina.
Playground Area
The park features a playground area with equipment suitable for children aged 2-12 years. The playground has a rubberized safety surface, which provides a safer environment for children to play.
It includes climbing structures with slides and swings, including both regular swings and tot swings for younger children.
Natural Features
One of the park's notable features is a small pond surrounded by shade trees. The pond area includes benches along its perimeter and small steel bridges, adding architectural interest to the landscape.
A cleared trail covered in pine needles allows visitors to walk around the pond and enjoy the natural scenery.

For sports enthusiasts, Powell Drive Park offers multiple options. There are two lighted tennis courts and a lighted basketball court.
A large open field, measuring 225' x 150', serves as a multipurpose area and includes a backstop and soccer goals, making it suitable for various team sports and activities.
