About the Location
Play and Adventure
Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Leinbach Park spans 9 acres of space where you can enjoy a breath of fresh air and some outdoor activities.
The main attraction is the nautical-themed playground with its three-story structure built to look like a ship. Kids can't get enough of sliding, climbing, and playing captain with the ship's wheel or spying through the periscope. We've watched little ones completely lose themselves in imaginative play here - the playground is incredibly spacious, giving them plenty of room to run wild while staying safe.
Get Moving
Looking to stay active? The park has several options. You'll find well-kept tennis courts that are open to everyone - no country club membership required! There's also a sand volleyball court if you're feeling those beach vibes without the actual beach.
One of our favorite features is the walking track that loops around the park. It's meant for a gentle morning stroll or if you're trying to hit your step count for the day. Many locals make this track part of their daily routine, and it's easy to see why - it offers a peaceful path for exercise without the intensity of a hiking trail.
Chill and Gather
When you're ready to take a break, head over to the large covered picnic shelter. It's a great spot to enjoy lunch or host a family get-together. You can even reserve it for special occasions. Planning a cookout? You're in luck - there are grills available too.
The park includes restroom facilities, which is always a plus when you're spending the day outdoors. Everything is kept pretty clean and well-maintained, making for a pleasant visit no matter what brings you here.
Leinbach Park strikes that perfect balance between lively activity areas and quieter spaces. The vibe is energetic but not overwhelming - you can always find a peaceful corner if you need one.
Good to Know
One important thing to note: dogs are not permitted in the park. You'll see signs about this posted around, though not everyone follows the rule (please do!).
The park is popular with locals, drawing visitors throughout the day. You can visit anytime between 6AM and 7PM daily.
