Wrapping around the tennis courts is a 0.33-mile walking trail that's ideal for your morning stroll or an easy workout. It's nothing fancy, but local walkers love the peaceful vibe here as they make their laps.

Making a Splash

When summer heats up, Parkland Park offers both a swimming pool and a splash pad. The splash pad isn't your typical sprayground - it sits in shallow water and features fun elements like a tall pole with buckets that dramatically dump water, plus various sprinklers that'll keep the kids giggling.

Just keep in mind that these water features operate seasonally, so check current hours before promising the kids a swim day!

For Sports Lovers

The park's baseball and softball diamond comes equipped with lights for those evening games when the day just isn't long enough. The open field surrounding it works great for impromptu kickball matches or whatever game you feel like organizing.

Tennis, anyone? With six lighted courts, you can work on your backhand even after sunset. The courts stay in good shape year-round, attracting local players regardless of season.

There's also plenty of open grassy space if you're looking to toss a frisbee, practice yoga, or just spread out a blanket and relax.

Family-Friendly Features

The playground offers the usual slides and climbing equipment that will keep the little ones entertained. One heads-up though - there's not much shade coverage, so morning visits are your best bet during those scorching summer days.

You'll come across restrooms on-site, but they're not always open (a porta-potty sometimes fills in as backup). Drinking fountains and parking are available too, making your visit more convenient.

Seating is somewhat limited with just a few picnic tables scattered around. If you're planning to hang out for a while, tossing a folding chair or blanket in your car isn't a bad idea.

The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 10:30PM. The pool and splash pad have specific hours with dedicated times for different groups - seniors get their own swim sessions, and there are open swim periods for everyone else.

If you're visiting in the evening hours, stay alert and aware of your surroundings. And remember to keep your four-legged friends on a leash while exploring the park together.
