About Annwood Park
A Piece of History in East Walnut Hills
The Cincinnati Park Board has been looking after Annwood Park since 1966, when it was generously gifted to the city, with a thoughtful expansion following just a few years later in 1969. This little urban sanctuary with a story sits in Cincinnati's East Walnut Hills neighborhood.
Natural Beauty in a Compact Space
Don't let the small size fool you - this corner park offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby Madison Road. With its shaded grassy areas, it's excellent for taking a breather or simply unwinding. The highlight of the park is a grotto waterfall that creates a soothing soundtrack to your visit, giving this pocket park a special atmosphere.

What Annwood Park lacks in size, it makes up for in thoughtful landscaping. The space has been nicely designed to highlight its natural beauty, creating a quiet spot in the middle of urban Cincinnati.
Far From Just a Park
Interestingly, Annwood Park came with some strings attached. The donation agreement specified that this space is meant solely for walking and sitting. You won't find playgrounds or picnic areas here - and that's by design. This keeps the park true to its intended purpose as a calm, reflective green space.
As you wander through, take a moment to notice the memorial plaque honoring a local Korean War veteran - a small but meaningful reminder of our community's history.
What to Expect
The magic of Annwood Park lies in its simplicity. It's a place to reconnect with nature without leaving the city limits. Locals often bring their dogs for a peaceful stroll or simply come to sit and soak in the tranquility.

Sure, you might find yourself wishing there was more of this good thing - the park's modest size is its only real limitation. But what it does offer is pretty special: a gorgeous setting and quiet charm that provide a genuine moment of peace in your day. It's exactly what the original donors intended - a simple, beautiful green space where the city slows down, even if just for a little while.
