Veterans Park

Park History

Veterans Park is a public recreational area located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The park encompasses 13.1 acres of land and was originally established in 1978 under the name Forest Park.

In 1997, it was rededicated as Veterans Park to honor Anderson residents who served in the U.S. armed forces.

Inclusive Playground

The park features the "Lucky Lanier All-Children's Playground," which is designed to accommodate children with physical challenges. This inclusive playground allows children of varying abilities to play together, promoting accessibility and community integration.

Trails and Fitness

A 0.4-mile jogging trail encircles the entire park, providing visitors with an opportunity for exercise and leisurely walks. The trail consists of both paved and gravel sections, offering a varied terrain for users.

Along the trail, there are five Parcourse FitCircuit stations, including equipment for knee lifts, chin-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, and bench dips.

Athletic Facilities

Veterans Park also includes athletic facilities such as a ball diamond, soccer fields, and a basketball court with glass backboards. These amenities cater to sports enthusiasts and provide space for organized games and casual play.

Picnic Areas

For gatherings and picnics, the park offers two reservable shelters. The larger shelter, located near the playground, can accommodate up to 80 people and includes amenities such as picnic tables, electrical outlets, lights, and a grill.

The smaller shelter, situated at the back of the park, seats 16 people and features a fire ring, making it suitable for scout groups and small gatherings.
